A Dance of Tales and Tunes
A live storytelling and musical performance, weaving traditional tales of wisdom and music from the violin.
This is a live (May 2017) recording of “A Dance of Tales & Tunes,” an elegant performance in which story performer Sally Perkins weaves her wisdom tales from around the world with the music of violinist, Thomas Wyatt Watkins and special guest performances by trumpeter James Zanker. The stories and music range from traditional Jataka tales from India to more contemporary tales about music in World War II, and the musical selections range from traditional Irish fiddle tunes to classical pieces by J.S. Bach. Performance occurred in the Indiana Landmarks Cook Theater in Indianapolis, IN.
